#3 Elks Area

Site of Staff Cabins

If you look closely you will find the remnants of four cabins on this small plateau. Here was the cottage of the Camp Director as well as those of other senior staff. It was also the site of the old "Medicine Lodge". One camp director, a former Navy man, had a bridge built across a ravine and visitors were required to "ask permission to come aboard" before entering his cabin. This are is now a popular site for tenting on Family Weekends. This area was a favorite of the Fuller brothers to demonstrate their Indian Lore.
