#8 Water Tower

| Untill it was taken down in 1943 and replaced by a new pressure system, this was the site of the water tower. It drew water from a well that proved to be too close to the pond and latrine. It stored up to 200 gallons of water. There being only one road into camp, scouts would signal from the top of the tower to the camp entrance to indicate which way the cars were moving. The tower was replaced with a knot yard and a drinking fountian. In 1992, it was replaced with the present barbecue pit. Note how small the trees are in the top picture that was taken in 1927. |
